Jakarta (10/11) – The Indonesia Competition Commission (ICC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia) to realize a healthy business competition climate and ecosystem in the business world. The cooperation was signed by ICC Chairman Prof. M. Afif Hasbullah and Acting Chairman of Kadin Indonesia Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi, today at Kadin Tower Jakarta. It is hoped that through this cooperation, prevention efforts at ICC can be strengthened to anticipate the emergence of unfair business competition as a result of the rapid development of the digital economy.

Specifically, the cooperation encourages collaboration between the ICC and Kadin Indonesia in conducting policy advocacy for the government, increasing business actors' compliance with business competition law, promoting fair business competition, and providing assistance in organizing education and training related to business competition and partnership supervision. This cooperation is a renewal of the previous cooperation that was launched by both parties in 2015.

Acting Daily Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi, enthusiastically welcomed the cooperation between Kadin Indonesia and the ICC in his speech. He also stated that, as a strategic partner of the government, Kadin Indonesia is committed to encouraging the creation of healthy business competition to support Indonesia's economic progress, especially towards the vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045. Through today's signing, Kadin Indonesia and ICC will provide mutual support in the development of market competition that continues to change for the better.

ICC Chairman Prof. Afif also emphasized that this positive cooperation is very important in order to encourage increased compliance of business actors with the norms of business competition law (Law Number 5 of 1999 concerning Prohibition of Monopolistic Practices and Unfair Business Competition), as well as in creating a climate of healthy business competition in the business world and a culture of competition by stakeholders.
