PCC unveils new case reporting system to enhance public engagement
The Philippine Competition Commission (PCC) is set to enhance its case processing capabilities with the launch of a new case management system donated by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
PCC Chairperson Michael Aguinaldo, South Korean Ambassador to the Philippines Lee Sang-Hwa, and KOICA Philippines Country Director Jung Youngsun attended the turnover ceremony of the case management system at the PCC’s Quezon City office on April 23.
Chairperson Aguinaldo highlighted the benefits of the new system, stating that it promises a faster, simpler, and more secure experience for the public when reporting potential anti-competitive practices.
“This new system represents a significant leap forward in making it easier for the public to contribute to a competitive marketplace. We are deeply grateful to KOICA for their invaluable support in this crucial initiative,” he said.
The new system streamlines the process of reporting, which currently requires users to email requests for SharePoint access, wait for PCC staff to create dedicated folders, and receive login details. The public will be able to directly submit their reports and securely upload relevant documents through the PCC website. Details regarding public access to the reporting system will be announced.
As the country’s primary antitrust agency, the PCC is responsible for enforcing the Philippine Competition Act (R.A. No. 10667), which prohibits anti-competitive practices, abuse of dominance, and anti-competitive mergers and acquisitions. This mandate ensures a level playing field for businesses and protects the welfare of consumers.
